The government, institutes, and generous donors also set up a series of scholarship schemes to encourage students to pursue excellence. The following scholarship schemes are managed by the Registry and Student Affairs Office.
This scheme is offered by HKSAR Government to give recognition not only to students with outstanding academic performance, but also those with achievements and talents in other non-academic fields. Scholarships and awards will be offered to students pursuing full-time locally accredited self-financing sub-degree or bachelor’s degree (including top-up degree) programmes.
In accordance with established policies and practice, the Institute/College may award up to three scholarships to students with the highest annual Grade Point Average (GPA) in all courses in each study year of each academic program. Awards are recommended by Schools/Departments and approved by the Academic Board.
The number of scholarship is proportional to the number of students in that year of study as follows:
|Number of students||Number of scholarship||Type of scholarship|
|< 40 students||1||First|
|40-100 students||2||First and Second|
|> 100 students||3||First, Second, and Third|
