CIHE issued offers of Applied Degrees in Nursing to 145 non-JUPAS applicants

15 Mar 2023
To address the city's short-handed healthcare system and to nourish the youngsters in the healthcare industry, the Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) commenced the Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) Applied Degree Programme. The 3.5-year programme is now a part of the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) with 120 subsidised places. Graduates of the programme can be registered as Registered Nurses.

Over the week of 6 March to 10 March 2023, 145 applicants who applied for CIHE's Bachelor of Nursing (Honour)(Applied Degree) via the non-Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) received their admission notices for the academic year 2023/24.

During the academic year 2022/23, 175 applicants had been admitted to the Bachelor of Nursing (Honour)(Applied Degree). Of these admittees, some of them have completed their higher diploma programmes with the CIHE or Caritas Bianchi College of Careers ("CBCC") and continue their studies on the degree programme. These students will join the force of Registered Nurses within 2.5 years.

CIHE and CBCC's Higher Diploma in Health Care, Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (General), and Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Dispensing are now open for application. The details of the programmes can be accessed here .

Professor Eric CHAN, Dean of the School of Health Science said "The CIHE is dedicated to educating the talents for the healthcare industry, we are delighted to issue the admission notices to some of our applicants, and we hope to provide articulation pathways to the students from all walks of life and to provide spaces to unleash the students' potentials in reaching their goals.
