To address the increasing demand of healthcare professionals in Hong Kong, the Department of Health Sciences of Caritas Bianchi College of Careers (CBCC) enhances the training of sub-degree students by streaming the Higher Diploma in Health Care (HDHC) programme into two health-specific study disciplines – Nursing Studies and Rehabilitation Studies. This can better prepare the students for the healthcare workforce and for the pursuit of a professional career in the healthcare sector.
In addition, in this academic year, which begins in September 2023, the Department of Health Sciences introduces a new diploma programme, named Diploma in Health Sciences, for students who wish to pursue a career in the healthcare sector. The programme aims to provide solid knowledge in the health sciences discipline for advancement into high level of study in different healthcare disciplines. It also provides the basic health care knowledge and skills to begin a career in the healthcare sector.
Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE), along with the CBCC, has built a comprehensive articulation pathway for CBCC graduates. Higher diploma programme graduates of CBCC can pursue higher level of education in the CIHE degree programmes with professional licensure in the health disciplines through the Through-train Articulation Schemes.
