This is the portrait of Team Tonic. He is a beautiful race horse but ran very badly in all races. He retired early with 0 rating because he felt nervous racing with a big group of race horses. The owner did not give up hopes on him and sent him to a stable in Perth, Australia for training. Only after one year, he won the Overall Championship for the Year in Australia for his age in the Young Horse Dressage and Jumping Competition in Australia. He looked extremely smart in the Award Blanket. As he grew, he continued to win numerous awards in Dressage and Jumping competitions.
Team Tonic could not perform when he competed in a group setting. However, he out-performed his competitors in a different setting when he did it his way. His story inspires that there is always talent within ourselves so do not despair on failure. Discover our talent and work on developing it for a bright future. Success is in our hands.

This is the portrait of Good Ba Ba. It was painted with the greatest attention to detail so that it accurately captures a true likeness of the horse and shows its beauty and grace. During his eight years in training, Good Ba Ba was crowned Horse of the year, Champion Miler and Most Popular Horse of the year in Hong Kong in 2008.
During his career, Good Ba Ba raced 50 times for 16 wins and nine places including three consecutive victories in the Group 1 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile. Having initially been retired in 2011, Good Ba Ba was put back into training in Australia.
In his last race start, he trailed home almost nine lengths behind Australia's champion sprinter Black Caviar at Moonee Valley and then enjoyed his retirement.

This is the portrait of the great sprinter Scared Kingdom. Scared Kingdom won 17 races including the G1 Hong Kong Sprint twice and the KrisFlyer Sprint in Singapore. He was rated the world champion sprinter three years running and still holds two track records at Sha Tin: he blitzed the 1000m in 54.70s and once roared through the 1200m in 1m 07.50s.
Scared Kingdom enjoyed retirement at his birthplace in Victoria, Australia and passed away in March 2019.

In this painting, before dawn is the setting. The birds add life to the quiet and still environment. The three pieces of long wood connect the foreground with the mid-ground.
Directional thrust means the direction of the major 'line of design' in a painting. Horizontal directional thrusts are quiet, calm, and have a restful feeling. In this painting, the lines of clouds in the sky, the lines of rocks and water in the mid-ground and the pieces of long woods in the foreground form horizontal directional thrust to reinforce the mood.

The name derived from a personal venture. The artist hired a studio in Jingdezhen and painted the outlines of this design. There was insufficient time to finish it and she had too many cases of materials to take home that she reluctantly left this in the rented studio. Not knowing when she will return to Jingdezhen. The artist never forgets this unfinished artwork.
Two years later, she rented this studio in Jingdezhen and was overjoy to find the owner of the studio kept this unfinished painting for her to return. The artist felt as if the lilies have been waiting patiently for the happy reunion, not giving up on hope, knowing the happy moment will come one day. It is just like it has gone to sleep, when wake up, everything will be fine. It is a positive world.
Therefore the artist painted the Lilies with yellow, the light colour represents happy and joy. The leaves are bright green which resembles happiness. The butterflies also have yellow colour to form harmony to the lilies. Their flying postures show active and a sense of joy, to celebrate they have come alive.

This jar may be created during the very hard historical time around the end of the XianFeng period because it carry XianFeng period's special character (weakness) at all although it do not carried marks..... because of the hard time in China during Taiping Rebellion and Opium War, all luxury items were stopped to make even all the 'imperial usage' and showing weakness in expression on their making process and also on the colouring work.

An impressive and exceptional underglaze-blue and famille-verte 'doucai' (contrasting colors) tea bowl
This fine tea bowl, rising from a short straight foot to flared angled sides and everted rim, painted to the interior in rich coral red, blue and white, gilt the active dragon striding in pursuit of a flaming pearl amidst cloud scrolls, dragon body further along the exterior side among the coral red cloud scrolls.
According to historical records, 'doucai' (contrasting colors) began in the Ming Xuande, but very rare can find.
The 'doucai' wares appeared in the years of Ming Xuande , and it was brilliant in ChengHua period, most of them were cup, plate, bowl, dish and small objects. Emperor ChengHua was keen on painting, porcelain deeply, because of his weakness character, he was not interested on any intense colour porcelain, but like the soft and elegant colour......'doucai' porcelain.
The most famous porcelain during the ChengHua years was the 'chicken cup' and the love story between the Emperor ChengHua and his 'Noble Consort Wàn', 'Noble Consort Wàn' liked the 'doucai' chicken cup very deeply. As the 'doucai' wares was favorited by the royal family, ChengHua 'doucai' porcelain became the hottest collectible piece, it was not only become the main steam on imperial collection, and also became famous art treasures on the fine quality of 'doucai'.
In Qing Dynasty, Emperors Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong also has a lot of fine imperial collection comparable to the Ming's 'doucai', even some were larger wares. Most of the Qing dynasty 'doucai' porcelain were very fine work on the painting, but lost the elegance character from Ming's with. Also, lots of Ming's 'doucai' imitation found in Qing Dynasty production.

Dawn is the beginning of the day, and means the start of something. It is also an in-between time, which makes it sacred and magical. It represent renewable and a second chance because the sun is coming up again after the night.
In this painting, before dawn is the setting. The birds add life to the quiet and still environment. The three pieces of long wood connect the foreground with the mid-ground.
Directional thrust means the direction of the major 'line of design' in a painting. Horizontal directional thrusts are quiet, calm, and have a restful feeling. In this painting, the lines of clouds in the sky, the lines of rocks and water in the mid-ground and the pieces of long woods in the foreground form horizontal directional thrust to reinforce the mood.
Psalm 57:8 : Awake, my glory! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
Isaiah 60:1 : Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
This is painted by a student aged 12 years old. This painting won a Silver Ribbon in the Youth Section of International Porcelain Artists and Teachers Inc. Biennial Convention Competition held in San Francisco, USA in 2012.

The Lighthouse is a tall circular stone structure erected upon the heightest point of land that is closest to the sea and its potential dangers. It notifies sailors that land is near and warns them that they are approaching rocks, reefs and shallow waters which must be navigated with caution. It is also a comforting sign that the calm waters of a welcoming harbor are close at hand. Therefore a lighthouse symbolizes strength, guidance and safe harbor.
The lighthouse painting inspires us to overcome challenges and adversity bravely. There will be a star to guide us. We should endeavour to find a way forward and navigate through the world like the bird flying swiftly in the sky in this painting. The bright colours used imply there is a bright future.

Liu Yuxi repeatedly suffered on his official post, but always straight forward, stick to his own righteousness and beliefs. On his relegation period, he was engaged in poetry and enjoy writing to release his distress, on the other hand as the pursuit of leisure life to adjust his spirit. Be contented in poverty and devoted to things spiritual sentiment.
Although he lived in a small room, lack of material, but his noble character let him enjoyed his rich life, felt his house good with full of incense (feeling), everywhere can be seen leisurely, found the spiritual strength.
The author had two ideals on his life, he was ambitious in his earlier stage; after he was involved in the literary world, finally became a great author of literature. Therefore, this is one of his positive text.
