Associate Dean (Research) (Ref.: 21/037/ACAD/SS/AD)

Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for providing support to the Dean of the School in (i) developing and implementing research strategies; (ii) developing an active research culture and enhancing quality of grant applications; (iii) coordinating and supervising activities related to research; and (iv) performing any other duties as determined and assigned by the Dean of the School.

Appointment Criteria
Applicants should (i) possess an earned and recognised Doctoral degree in relevant disciplines; (ii) have a minimum of 3 years' professional experience and teaching experience at higher education level. Preference will be given to those with good research record and demonstrated ability to provide academic and research leadership and experience in the development and administration of higher education programmes in Hong Kong or overseas.

Associate Vice-President (Quality Assurance) [Full-time] (Ref.: (Ref.: 21/024/AVP))
Duties

This is a pivotal role in the ongoing development of the institutions: (i) overseeing the quality assurance (QA) of the academic units, and the operation of the Quality Assurance Office; (ii) formulating, implementing and reviewing QA systems for realizing the vision and development of the Institutions; (iii) leading the preparation for internal and external accreditation; (iv) managing the production of QA reports and other documentations; (v) enhancing quality assurance through staff development activities; (vi) fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and (vii) performing other duties assigned by the Vice-President (Academic and Quality Assurance) and President.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (i) a proven track record in quality assurance; (ii) management experience at a senior level and knowledge of higher education; (iii) an earned doctoral degree, and leadership and people skills; and (iv) excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Vice-President (Research and Technology) (Ref.: (Ref.: 21/023/VPRT) )
Duties

The appointee will be responsible for (i) providing leadership for promoting active research; (ii) formulating policies and strategies for integrating research and scholarly activities with the overall development of the Institutions; (iii) overseeing the Research Office and the Information Technology Services Centre; (iv) ensuring effective liaison with and responses to the Research Grant Council and other funding bodies; and (v) undertaking other duties as determined by the President.

Appointment Criteria Applicants should have (i) extensive active research record and knowledge of higher education, preferably relevant to the Institutions; (ii) demonstrated leadership on the conduct of research and scholarly activities; (iii) an earned Doctoral degree with extensive experience at a senior level and proven track record of promoting and managing research in higher education institutions; and (iv) excellent written and spoken communication skills.
