Degree (Honours) Programmes - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Language and Liberal Studies, Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours), Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Digital Entertainment and Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours)

Year 1 Entry#

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics and Level 2 in Liberal Studies in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination; applicants’ performance in two elective courses in the HKDSE Examination will be considered as bonus point in the selection process ***; OR
  2. Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture and Use of English and one additional AL / two ASL subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus five passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Remark:

#      1. As specified in the letter of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) dated 12 July 2017, the maximum number of non-standard admission (including mature aged students) for local degree programmes is capped at the maximum of 5% of the actual number of Year 1 new students of the year.  The cap is applied in line with the general expectation on self-financed degree-awarding institutions in safeguarding teaching and learning quality and thereby upholding the creditability and recognition of the qualifications.

       3. "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning (ApL) subjects are considered to be equivalent to Level 2 and Level 3 in DSE subjects respectively. A maximum of 2 ApL subjects are allowed to be taken into account.

Year 2 Entry

  1. Have successfully completed an Associate Degree (AD) / Higher Diploma (HD) programme that is approved by the Institute; OR
  2. Have completed a Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 4 programme that is approved by the Institute; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 3 Entry (Except the Social Work stream of the Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) programme)

  1. Have successfully completed an AD / HD programme in related areas that is approved by the Institute; OR
  2. Have completed a QF Level 4 programme in related areas that is approved by the Institute; OR

Year 3 Entry (For the Social Work stream of the Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) programme ONLY)

  1. Have successfully completed a relevant AD / HD programme in Social Work with accumulative GPA of 2.7 or above; OR
  2. Have completed a programme in Social Work that is pitched at level 4 of the QF with accumulative GPA of 2.7 or above and is approved by the Institute; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
Degree (Honours) Programmes-Bachelor of Nursing (Honours)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics, Level 2 in Liberal Studies and Level 2 in one elective subject from Category A (preferably Biology or Combined Science (with Biology)) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE); OR
  2. Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture, Use of English plus one AL Level subject or two AS Level subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) AND have obtained Grade C in Chinese Language, Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) (or Grade B in English Language (Syllabus A)), and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) before 2007; OR
    have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) in 2007 to 2011; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification that meets the education standard stipulated by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.
Degree (Honours) Programmes-Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) (Part-time Top-up Programme)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have successfully completed an Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in health discipline that is pitched at Level 4 of the QF, OR
  2. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
Degree (Honours) Programmes-Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (Part-time Conversion Programme)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have completed a recognised AD / HD in Social Work AND have relevant professional practice experience.
Higher Diploma Programmes-Higher Diploma in Social Work (Full-time/Part-time)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 2 in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKDSEE ***; OR
  2. Have graduated from the Yi Jin Diploma; OR
  3. Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL / two ASL subjects in the HKALE plus five passes in the HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  4. Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the Institute; OR
  5. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  6. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 2 in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKDSEE ***; OR
  2. Have graduated from the Yi Jin Diploma; OR
  3. Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the Institute; OR
  4. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  5. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Remarks : For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, the Institute will accept Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade C in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or a score of 4 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to degree programmes; and Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade D in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or a score of 3 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to sub-degree programmes.

The specified circumstances are:

  1. The student has learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education.
  2. The student has learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler Chinese Language curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in our local schools.
