Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) (Part-time Top-up Programme)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have successfully completed an Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in health discipline that is pitched at Level 4 of the QF, OR
  2. Have successfully completed an Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in any discipline that is pitched at Level 4 of the QF PLUS one-year work experience in a health-related institution, organisation, or company, OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
Bachelor of Nursing (Honours)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics, Level 2 in Liberal Studies and Level 2 in one elective subject from Category A (preferably Biology or Combined Science (with Biology)) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE); OR
  2. Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture, Use of English plus one AL Level subject or two AS Level subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) AND have obtained Grade C in Chinese Language, Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) (or Grade B in English Language (Syllabus A)), and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) before 2007; OR
    have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) in 2007 to 2011; OR

Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics, Level 2 in Liberal Studies and Level 2 in one elective subject from Category A (Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained Level 4 or above in English Language and Level 3 or above in Biology or Physics or Level 3 in Combined Science (Biology and Physics) in HKDSE); OR
  2. Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture and Use of English and one additional AL / two ASL subjects in Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus five passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  3. Have obtained a minimum score of 24 in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least grade 4 in 2 Higher Level (HL) subjects;
    AND satisfy the English Language requirement: A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL) score of 80 or above for the Internet-based test or 550 or above for the paper-based test / an overall Band Score of 6 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) / Grade C or above in General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCEOL) English / Grade C/ 4 or above in General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)/ International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) English / Grade 4 or above in English at IB / Grade E or above in HKASLE Use of English;

  2. Have completed a programme in Social Work that is pitched at level 4 of the QF with accumulative GPA of 2.7 or above and is approved by the Institute; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (Part-time Conversion Programme)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have completed a recognised AD / HD in Social Work; AND
  2. Have relevant professional practice experience.
*Applicants who are working in the field and have at least two years of work experiences will be given priority in the student selection exercise.

Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (General)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 2 or above in 5 subjects, including Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and any two other subjects in Categories A and B in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination***; OR
  2. Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL / two ASL subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus five passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  3. Have graduated from the Diploma Yi Jin and have successfully completed the Math Plus elective course; OR
  4. Have reached the age of at least 21 on 1 September of the year of admission and have met the Minimum Entry Requirements for Training of Enrolled Nurses as stipulated by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong; OR
  5. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

[HDEN-SWD] Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (General) Year 1 Entry

Applicants who are interested in HDEN-SWD programme organised and funded by the SWD are required to meet the requirements:

  1. Permanent Hong Kong Resident with the right of abode in Hong Kong who is aged 18 or above by 11 September 2023; AND
  2. Fluent in Cantonese, and proficiency in written Chinese and English; AND

  3. Attained any of the following academic qualifications:

  4. Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the Institute/College; OR
  5. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  6. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Professional Diploma / Diploma Programmes

Professional Diploma in Property Management (Part-time)
  1. Having completed Secondary Five under HKCEE or Secondary Six under HKDSEE in Hong Kong with at least a Pass or Level 2 in Chinese Language respectively; and currently work in the property management industry at least 6 months in "Assistant" (e.g. Property Assistant, Customer Services Assistant, or Assistant Officer) job grade; OR
  2. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with 5 years relevant working experience in Property Management; OR
  3. Have completed relevant training courses at QF Level 3; OR
  4. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
Diploma in Foundation Studies of Higher Education (Full-time / Part-time)
  1. Have completed Secondary 6 under the new secondary school system; OR 
  2. Have completed Secondary 6 under the pre-NSS secondary school system; OR
  3. Have passed in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKCEE; OR
  4. Have completed a QF Level 2 programme that is approved by the College; OR
  5. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with at least one year working experience and academic background; OR
  6. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
Diploma in Health Sciences
  1. Have completed Secondary 6, and obtained Level 1 in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination; OR
  2. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.


Remarks:

       1. The Registry or Academic departments will notify shortlisted applicants of the details of interviews individually by email, SMS, phone (our phone number usually starts with 3702 or 3653) or other electronic means. Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be possible. If they fail to do so, their applications may not be further considered. 

#   2. As specified in the letter of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) dated 12 July 2017, the maximum number of non-standard admission (including mature aged students) for local degree programmes is capped at the maximum of 5% of the actual number of Year 1 new students of the year.  The cap is applied in line with the general expectation on self-financed degree-awarding institutions in safeguarding teaching and learning quality and thereby upholding the creditability and recognition of the qualifications.

***  3. Mathematics extended module (M1/M2) could be considered as an independent course [except for Bachelor of Nursing (Hons)].

     4.  "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)", and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in Applied Learning (ApL) subjects are considered to be equivalent to Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 in DSE subjects respectively. A maximum of 2 ApL subjects are allowed to be taken into account. 

       5.  For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, the Institute will accept Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade C in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to degree programmes; and Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade D in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to Sub-degree programmes.

The specified circumstances are:
1. The student has learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education.
2. The student has learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler Chinese Language curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in our local schools.
