The Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) Programme is offered by the School of Health Sciences of the Institute. Academic staff members of the School have extensive professional and teaching experiences in the nursing and related disciplines, and have maintained good linkages with the professional sectors such that students are able to gain exposure to the current development in the relevant fields. A close teacher-student relationship is cultivated to foster a passion for lifelong learning and continuing professional development. Staff members of the School are committed to identifying the needs of students in their learning and to helping students to overcome the obstacles in their course of study. Academic Advancement and Career Prospect
Registered nurses are generally served in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, day care centers, community centers or government health departments.
Excellent graduates can continue to study graduate or postgraduate diploma courses, through research and practice, increase specialist nursing knowledge, towards the development of nursing professional and specialist care in the direction of forward.
The tuition fee after the deduction of the $71,700 subsidy under the SSSDP is $35,540 per year.
The subsidy is only applicable to local students.

- Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language. Level 2 in Mathematics, Level 2 in Liberal Studies and Level 2 in one elective subject from Category A (preferably Biology or Combined Science (with Biology)) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE); OR
- Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture, Use of English plus one AL Level subject or two AS Level subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) AND
have obtained Grade C in Chinese Language, Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) (or Grade B in English Language (Syllabus A)), and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) before 2007; OR
have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) in 2007 to 2011; OR
- Have obtained an equivalent qualification that meets the education standard stipulated by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.

Application for Subsidized Places under SSSDP
To seek admission to the subsidized places of the BN(Hons) programme, applicants are required to apply under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) via JUPAS, JUPAS Code: JSSA01).
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an admission interview. Only one interview will be arranged for each applicant.

The subsidized places of the BN(Hons) programme under the SSSDP are mainly allocated through JUPAS. JUPAS students can obtain a subsidized place only via JUPAS but not any other channels. Should there be unfilled intake places after all admission rounds of JUPAS, local non-JUPAS applicants will be admitted via direct admission of no more than 10% of the subsidized places of the programme (i.e., a maximum of 20 places).
