Programme Aims


The Programme aims to produce responsible and respectable graduates who are academically and professionally educated in the respective business disciplines and can fulfill the role of making contributions to society. The Programme Objectives are:

  • To provide students with a broad learning experience for their intellectual development as future professionals in the respective fields; and 

  • To enhance students’ integrity and capacity for personal development as ethical and caring persons who can make informed decisions in their future careers and daily lives.

Professional Recognition


Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) 
The BBA (Hons) in Accountancy is one of the accredited local accountancy degrees under the Institute's Qualification Programme (QP). Graduates are eligible to register as students of the Institute and sit for QP examination directly.

 

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)acca
Graduates of BBA (Hons) in Accountancy are eligible for exemptions up to a maximum of nine (out of fourteen) papers of the ACCA examinations.

 

CPA Australia
The BBA (Hons) in Accountancy is accredited by CPA Australia. Upon completion, graduates will be admitted directly to the CPA Program.

 

The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) 
Graduates of BBA (Hons) in Corporate Management are eligible for exemptions of all four papers of Part One of the International Qualifying Scheme (IQS) Professional Programme (out of eight papers of IQS).

 

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
The BBA Programme in Information Systems stream is designed to prepare students to sit for examination of the six modules in the CISA professional examination

 

Hong Kong Institute of Marketing (HKIM)

Graduates in Marketing and Event Management stream are eligible for full exemption from HKIM Diploma in Marketing and exemption from the corresponding modules of HKIM Professional Diploma in Marketing.

 

Academic Advancement and Career Prospect


 

Accountancy
Graduates can commence their careers in certified public accountant (CPA) firms, government departments, commercial and industrial organisations, and public bodies. Graduates are expected to complete public examinations of related professional bodies and accumulate relevant work experience required for their qualification as certified public accountants.

 

Corporate Management
Graduates can commence their career as company secretarial assistants and administrative officers in professional service firms, listed companies, commercial and industrial organisations, as well as public bodies. After accumulating several years of work experience and acquiring qualifications through professional examinations, they will be qualified as chartered company secretaries.

 

Information Systems
Graduates may start as application developer, applications specialists, business analysts, information technology specialists, and systems administrators in financial services, consulting firms and other business sectors. After gaining sufficient relevant experience, they may become senior management of Information Systems department.

 

Marketing and Event Management
Graduates may start as account executives, administrative assistants, business development assistants, customer service executives, event coordinators, marketing and sales executives and customer relations officers in the event management industry as well as in the sales and marketing sector for various commercial and industrial organisations, government departments, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and public bodies. After gaining sufficient relevant experience, they may become management in the event industry or sales and marketing fields.

 

Hotel Management
Graduates may start as food and beverage assistants, front desk assistants, guest service agents, hotel management trainees and corporate sales executives in hotels, resorts, and other hospitality industries. After gaining sufficient relevant experience, they may be promoted to leading positions of different departments in hotels or related hospitality firms.

* Students of the BBA in Hotel Management stream need to study Event Marketing instead of Consumer Behaviour

#Students of the stream of Hotel Management are required to take a minimum of 500 hours internship within an industrial environment.

 

 

 

Year 1 Entry

  • Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics and Level 2 in Liberal Studies in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination; applicants' performance in two elective courses in the HKDSE Examination will be considered as bonus point in the selection process; OR
  • Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture and Use of English and one additional AL / two ASL subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus five passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  • Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  • Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 2 Entry

  • Have successfully completed an Associate Degree (AD) / Higher Diploma (HD) programme that is approved by the Institute; OR
  • Have completed a Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 4 programme that is approved by the Institute; OR
  • Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 3 Entry

  • Have successfully completed an AD / HD programme in related areas that is approved by the Institute; OR
  • Have completed a QF Level 4 programme in related areas that is approved by the Institute; OR
  • Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
