Major Roles

  • Integral to the academic missions of the CBCC and CIHE;
  • Charged to develop major land grant proposals and to respond to major government initiatives;
  • Charged to lead in the procurement and coordination of a wide range of grant applications (quality assurance related, research, teaching and learning);
  • Administered by the Office of the President and integrated across key elements: (a) Colleges, Departments, Programs and CAPS and (b) Student Affairs Office;
  • Leverage campus and inter and intra institutional collaborations for mutual benefit;
  • Expand into new, relevant program development (such as Nursing, and Health Care programs);
  • Connect systematically with related comprehensive initiatives on campus (such as outcome-based learning, general education, top-up graduate education, authentic assessment, distance and blended learning, undergraduate research, and community engagement);
  • Promote life-long and life-wide learning and prepare graduates for an uncertain and complex world of work;
  • Garner substantial external funding in support of on-campus development of the key areas of teaching, learning, community engagement and scholarship;
