Duties

Appointment Criteria
Applicants for professorial grade should have (i) an earned and recognised Doctoral degree in relevant disciplines; and (ii) substantial relevant teaching / professional / research experience. Responsible for (i) performing regular maintenance of all facilities in nursing laboratories; (ii) maintaining the daily operation of the laboratories and managing the inventory of the facilities and equipment in the laboratories; and (iii) assisting academic staff in the delivery of teaching activities in nursing laboratories. The appointee may work under different schedules due to specific operational requirements, such as supervising laboratory classes scheduled for weekday evenings and weekends.
 
Appointment Criteria
Applicants should (i) have a Higher Diploma or above in Nursing Studies or equivalent, preferably having practiced as Enrolled or Registered Nurse. Working experience in providing nursing care is preferred; (ii) be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua); and (iii) have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and also the ability to work independently.

Research / Project Posts

Duties
The Research Fellow will be responsible for conducting research in big data analytics in health informatics.
 
Appointment Criteria
Applicants should have an earned and recognised Doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with a focus on Big Data Analytics, Data Mining or Machine Learning. Experience in health informatics is a plus.

Duties
The appointees are required to serve as a part of the team in the project (UGC/FDS11/E04/16) – “Structural Modeling, Characterization and Analysis of New Receptor-Ligand Systems: Applying Computational Methods in Molecular Binding Affinity Analysis”. He/she will be responsible for (a) literature survey, data collection, molecular modeling, algorithm design, and results analysis; and (b) preparation of related research paper and reports. Appointment will be made on a contract basis for 3 to 12 months commencing in June 2017.
 
Appointment Criteria
Applicants should (i) have a recognized PhD in the related disciplines; (ii) research experience and knowledge of bioinformatics or applied machine learning; (iii) hands-on experience with MATLAB, C/C++, Python or similar programming languages; (iv) excellent communication skills, and (v) be able to work independently or as a team member.

Duties
The appointees will assist the principal investigator in the project (UGC/FDS11/E03/16) – “Sentiment Analysis based on Multi-source Social Network Data.” He/She will be responsible for (i) involving in the collection of social network data and development of a sentiment analysis framework using C++/Java; (ii) assisting in the preparation of research paper and reports; and (iii) assisting the principal investigator to organize the international conferences and other assigned duties by principal investigator.
 
Appointment Criteria
Applicants for post (1) should have a recognised Ph.D. in Management Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines. Applicants for post (2) should have a recognised Master’s degree in related disciplines. Applicants for both posts should (i) have substantial research experience on sentiment analysis, preferably with SCI-indexed and EI-indexed journal articles and international conference proceedings that are concerned with sentiment classification over short text, sentimental/emotional topic modelling, and social emotion detection; (ii) be able to work independently, and have acted as the Co-chair/PC member of international conferences or workshops; (iii) be familiar with the collection, mining, and application of social network data; (iv) have the research experience or some publications related to e-learning applications; and (v) have excellent communication skills and fluency in English and Chinese.
